CHASSIS: Built by Heritage and subsequently modified by Classic Car Racing, to improve the handling. New gas monotube, adjustable dampers by Gaz have been fitted, as part of the total re-build. Dampers have spring platforms to adjust the ride height and to balance the corner weights. Suspension is fully adjustable for tracking, camber and caster. The chassis was blast cleaned and powder coated in silver grey. New aluminium floors, closing and trim panels have been fitted as required.
Suspension elements are all Jaguar XJ6. All new poly bush mounts have been fitted to give a balance between road and track use. Anti-roll bars will be fitted to match the expected use and to match the experience of the driver.
BRAKES: Girling 4 pot at the front and Girling 2 pot at rear with BG developments modifications to run ventilated discs on the rear, the front uses standard XJ6 ventilated discs. Brake lines are in copper/tunifer pipe work with braided hose used for the flexibles.
The system incorporates two AP master cylinders working through a balance bar, the front rear balance can be easily adjusted from the driving position.
WHEELS: The car is currently fitted with period knock on wire wheels which are painted silver, they are held in place with ‘two eared’ chrome spinners. The Avon Turbospeed 205 x 15 radial tyres are fitted with inner tubes. A spare is carried in the boot of the car.

Light alloy bullet style rear view mirrors and dual ‘Aero’ screens are fitted to the scuttle. The interior is trimmed in black leather cloth with two bucket seats. The rear section of the bodywork can be easily removed to give access to the rear suspension and fuel system. Access is via Zeus fasteners.
FUEL SYSTEM: A polished alloy Aston 3.5” fuel filler cap is fitted to the rear scuttle, this gives access to a safety-foam filled and baffled fuel tank. The tank has a capacity of 40 litres. Fuel delivery is by way of two Facet red top fuel pumps feeding a 3/8” copper fuel line into an adjustable FSE fuel regulator and filter combined. This fuel system will allow flexibility if engine power is increased in the future. The Webber carburettors breathe through an alloy air box.
EXHAUST: Currently fitted is a pair of authentic fabricated C type exhaust manifolds that feed into a side mounted silencer. The manifold down pipes are thermally wrapped to reduce engine bay temperature.
INSTRUMENTS: The dashboard is very close in style to the original cars with two large, reverse sensing, dials for speed and engine revolutions. Dials for engine water temperature and oil pressure (combined), fuel level and charge rate are also fitted. There is a separate panel for the control of the lighting system. There is a programmable gear change indicator and a low oil pressure indicator fitted to the edge of the scuttle, in the driver’s field of view. A wood rim, polished alloy, steering wheel by Motolita is fitted to a standard Jaguar boss.
SAFETY: Two Willans full harness, 4 point attachment, seat belts are fitted. Provision has been made for the use of a roll cage.
